Dear ;
As such no difference as far as MTC concerned. ASME starts with SA and ASTM with A . For example ASTM-A-106 and ASME-SA-106 . But ASME dose not cover all items of ASTM. American National Standards Institute, also abbreviated as ANSI, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, also abbreviated as ASME, are both non-profit organizations mainly focusing on bringing uniformity in voluntary standards used in the engineering discipline. code – also known as ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code or BPVC – is the standard that regulates the design, development and construction of boilers and pressure vessels utilized in a variety of industries. ASME takes reference of ASTM in it's publications, so when you raising requisition for any product, such as Valve whose dimensions are defined in ASME B 16.34, you need to refer respective ASTM standards, like A105 if the valve is to made out of forging.
