Hi Asthakar,
There are many factors you need to consider before welding.
1)Material: EN19 to IS2062 - Dissimilar welding
EN 19 is equivalent to P11...1.25Cr-0.5Mo so I think E8018-B2 works fine.
2) Thickness: EN19 - 80 mm
3)Welding Process: SMAW
4)Preheating - for 80mm thickness - maintain a minimum of 150 deg. preheat on a safer side.
Please take care of some basic steps before a start of welding/while welding.
1) Pre-weld joint fit-up
2) Preheating
3) Welding Parameter check
4) Post heating (depends on application)
5) PWHT ( if code stamp job refer UCS-56)
6) post welding check - NDT
Note: steps mentioned above are basic steps if your job is code stamp job then follow proper standard SOP with respect to the application.
Thanks,
Regards,
Vivek Patel

Hi experts,--I am doing welding of EN19 round bar( dia 80mm ) to IS 2062 E250 BR (25mm thk) plate using E71T-1 electrode( preheat 150deg & then slow cooling),but getting discontinuities after welding which seems like crack. Can someone please suggest me right electrode and procedure..Thanks in advance.Attached photos for reference.Regards,Somnath9096297210
