it's horizontal (overhead is considered when weld metal deposited from underneath)
Welding positions given in the figures are always contiguous.
e.g. inclination of the axis between 0° to 15° fall in for both horizontal and overhead.

- I just checked AWS and ASME code,Note 3 said that "the angle of rotation of the face is determined by a line perpendicular to the theoretical face of the weld which passes through the axis of the weld.". What the " theoretical face of the weld" exactly means? Is that means"weld face"?if yes,then the angle become 0 degree for the weld mentioned previously,and welding position fall into Horizontal.
