Re: [MW:17518] WPS for A350 LF/2 forged flange

Dear Mr. Chauhan,
Please note that API 5L X 42 is not a Low temp. material. any how that weld joint could not be subjected to Low temp. environment.
So, impact test is not required and hence LTC welding consumbale is not required.
Thanks and Best Regards,

Dear rajagopal sir,

A350 LF/2  has group n0. 2 &  API 5l x42 has group n0.1.
for weldig of LTCS consumable should be impact tested with acceptable UTS and YS.and impact testing requirement group no. supplementary essential variable.
you can tell in your opinion in welding Of A350 LF/2 & API 5l x42

Dear Hemal,
Can you say why?
What is stopping you welding the LTCS material with X 42?
Thanks and Best Regards,

Dear raghuramji,

we cant weld A350 LF/2  material with API 5l x42 by using E-7018-1 only.you cant weld LTCS material with E-7018 and you cant use E-7018-1 in place of E-7018 as per
 QW-404.12(e)

Ezat Adel question is to use LF2 in place of A105 for normal use (not for low temp). why you would like to suggest low temp consumables?

Dear raghuramji,

A350 LF/2 is LTCS material and WPS you have is CS to CS(A 105 N to API 5l x42) with full SLAW process (E-6010+E-7018),and if you want to weld CS to LTCS (A350 LF/2 to API 5l x42) it will be dissimilar metals, and if you want to  use full SMAW process then you should have  to compulsorily  go for E-7018-1 and ER80Sni-1 for full  GTAW.In both cases electrodes/fillerwire should be impact tested before use.and also  A350 LF/2 to API 5l x42 both has different group no,in both  SMAW and GTAW  processs group no. supplimentary essential variable.so you cant weld that both metals by your WPS CS to CS(A 105 N to API 5l x42).you should have to establish new WPS.

Dear Expert ,

Could you give me your opinion about my supplier send me A350 LF/2 forged flange instead of A 105 N forged flange and i have a WPS for welding A 105 N to API 5l x42 in your opinion this wps will covered  A350 LF/2 to API 5l x42 ?

as i know  A350 LF/2 is a low temp.carbon steel and A 105 N is a carbon steel and both material has the same P no.,Group no. and in my activities i do not need to use a low temp. CS but my question  if i accept this flanges  the wps i have will covered the case.

the WPS i have is E6010 for root pass and E7018 for filling and cap

Thanks in advance
