[MW:1872] Re: Effect of Silicon in welding 420 Stainless Steel

Dear mquiggs,

When welding Stainless Steel materials (Austenitic, Ferritic and
Martensitic) the risk of getting Sigma phase (FeCr) present after
welding increases with the increase of the Silicon content, this
applies also on filler metals.
