RE: [MW:15298] Welder Qualification Range for CS to alloy with same dia and thickness?

Why not?

E7018 is a QW-432 F4 electrode and E8018-B8 {E(X)XXX18-X in Sc IX notation} is also an F4 electrode

Likewise, ER70S-6 is an F6  and ER80S-B8 is an F6 filler metal.

Base metals are addressed in QW423.1.

Weldor is permitted to do the welding provide there is an appropriately qualified WPS for him/her to work to.

Dear Experts,

1 welder is qualified with ASTM A 106 Gr. B with ER70S-6 (Root & 2nd Pass) & E7018(Fill & Cap) with a diameter range of 2 7/8 and above

If thickness and dia of pipe remain same, can he weld on ASTM A 335 Gr. P-9 with ER80s B8 & E 8018 B8.

Construction Code Sec-IX, 2010.
