Normally we don't find the extend of purging in any spec or code.
-- if the thickness of the pipe is more than 5mm i dont think there will be any oxidation inside pipe side....
if the pipe thickness is less than that,better use purging to avoid oxidation..
However it is recommended to use purging for at least root run.
