Dear Dhana,
Both are different tests. Ferrite test to check the ferrite content in weld and copper sulphate test is performed to check if any contamination exists, after pickling and passivation. Hope its clear now.

Dear Experts,--We have an SS 316 Lateral Joint project going on here. Client request for a verification of Pickling and Passivation (i.e) purity of iron. We have recommended Ferrite test, but there is also a copper sulphate test as per ASTM A380-06. Kindly confirm which is the best and easy way to sort out.BrDhana
