You need to ask the client , what's the maximum limit. Sec II, Pt-C, SFA 5.7 shows Iron dilution limits (1%) max for undiluted welds metal. However it's difficult to meet in clad construction involving typically 1/8"

This was posted in the group. It will be Appreciated if you can provide your expert advise.
Regarding the welding procedure for Cupro-Nickel(70/30) cladding on SA516 Gr-70 plate for Sea water heat exchanger, please advise the maximum iron content permitted in clad weld along with any reference standard. Data sheet mentioned undiluted clad metal thickness. Does it mean the Clad metal surface should be same as the filler metal chemistry?
