Dear sir,

You have specified the required wps based on the 2 portions which U need to weld and these 2 are only required. Since the requirement of clad is for corrosion purpose only U need to check the corrosion properties after simulating the coupons to the vessel pwht cycle. This requirement may not come code but from ur client spec.

Nitin

Dear Experts,
I am presenting a case for which I would like to have your valuable comments:

Case: clad equipment - Base material- CS (P1) 25mm thk,
clad material -- SS 316L , 3 mm thk
PWHT- required for the whole equipment ( base + clad)
clad provided for corrosion , not included in design calculation

Welding qualification carried out: 1) for base material with PWHT , 2) for restoration of cladding overlay procedure done on CS(P1) for 316L weld. with PWHT

Is above qualified procedures OK for the equipment as per ASME Section IX para QW 217 (b).

with regards

vanchinath
