Re: [MW:23068] RT Report clarification / advise required

Dear Friends,

As per my understanding ASNT level - II have one qualification for  Radio Graphic Inspection which is ASNT LEVEL -II - RT.
which covers film review and reporting.

For Radio graphic film interpretation & Report authorization requires  ASNT LEVEL -II - RT.

The other qualification like MPI or LPE a level 1 operator can do that performing the MPI or LPE. Report evaluation and authorization by ASNT LEVEL -II MPI or LPE

But in RT film review Level-I cannot do.( Mostly in Middle east we are using Level- II for all including preforming MPI / LPE )

Dear sir,

Please share with the vendor the guidelines of ASNT about level 2 in RT and RTFI.

RT qualification from ASNT Level 2 is an operator level qualification. In INDIA, an ASNT level 2 person cannot operate a radiography camera as we have to follow the regulations of AERB .Outside INDIA an ASNT level 2 person can operate a radiography camera.

In ASNT level 2 in RT there is nothing regarding the evaluation of radiography film.

An ASNT RTFI level 2 person is qualified to evaluate Radiography film, interpret it and is qualified to sign the report.

It is a general perception that an ASNT Level 2 in RT is qualified for film interpretation and that is wrong.
