I have query regarding application A106 specification.
In the old edition of Astm A106 - edition 99 and latest SA106 specification, there is a clause for Additional requirements of yield strength as per A 520 shall be followed in case the product to be used in application confirming to ISO recommendations of Boiler Construction.
1 )Can anyone explain me the definition / scope of ISO recommendations of Boiler construction ?
also. As per current ASTM revisions, standard A520 has made Obsolete & the clause of additional requirements for ISO recommended Boiler construction has been removed in revised edition of A106 - edition. 2009.
now to design pipe class according to ASME 31.3 , do I have to consider any additional requirement ?
One of the reply from Lloyds NOBO. was to follow yield strength as per ASME section II part D table Y-1.
Then for calculations , which allowable stress value shall be consider , ASME 31.3 table A-1 or ASME Se. II part D, table 1A ?
kindly advise me on the matter.
