[MW:24955] Re: Support Welding of Cladded Pipes

I have several experience at clad material especially SS and Nickel Alloy material.
Basically, i believe PWHT at 740 is refer to the carbon steel and not intended to be done on clad material.
For clad material, you have to proof by mechanical test, chemical analysis.
However, since clad material is intended for corrosion resistance result, you may need to check for intergranullar corrosion on the clad material.
Personally I just PWHT for nickel clad material. And it seems affect the intergrannular corrosion resistance.

Dear Experts,

We have the Cladded Pipe of ASTM A335 Gr P11 (9.3 mm to 25 mm)  with internally cladded with SS347 (3mm).

We need to weld the Pipe Support with the pipes.

Our pipe support is P11 grade and the WPS is qualified with PWHT @740 for minimum 2 hours.

If we do PWHT is it going to effect the SS cladding? is there any corrosion issue.

We need your kind advice.
