Subject: [MW:24813] Metallurgical affect / defect clarifications

Dear Experts

We have one project, Material is Alloy P22, A335 (Cr2.25 and Mo 1), Customer requirement
where heat treatment of low alloy steel is required the weld joint shall be immediately heat treated without allowing it to cool below 150C (300F). if this is not practical the weld and adjacent pipe shall be uniformly heated to min 300C (570F), kept for 20 minutes , wrapped with insulation allowed to cool and heat treated later"

Please tell me what will be metallurgical affect in weld area if above condition will not follow, only maintain preheat temperature 200C during welding as per WPS/ PQR and conduct the PWHT after one or two days

Best Regards
