[MW:23976] Re: Qualified Base metal thickness range as per ISO 15614-1 :2012.

Correct validation range will be pipe or plate 0,7 - 2,0 mm to plate 3,0 - 8,0 mm. Beside that for single run fillet welds also throat thickness (á) is an essential variable (0,75 - 1,5 x á).

Dear All,

Need your help,

I have qualified  fillet weld PQR with following ,

Thickness of Pipe:- 1 mm

Thickness of Plate :- 4 mm

I have confusion about base metal qualification thickness,

Qualification thickness will be 0.7 mm to 8 mm for single layer for both Pipe & Plate

Or

For Pipe it is 0.7 to 2 mm &  for plate it is 3-8 mm.

What is correct?

Thank you

Vijay Katkar
