[MW:6096] RE: 6093] Flux to be used in SAW with PWHT

In most cases flux manufacturer confirms the properties same F7A8 and F7P8. Just verify the flux bag you can find both F7A8 and F7P8. In this case you can accept previous weld joints.

Subject: [MW:6093] Flux to be used in SAW with PWHT

Dear all,
My vendor is using WPS as follows:
Process - FCAW + SAW
Base Metal - S355 K2G3/ API 2H /2W GR 50
Thickness - 50 mm & above
Wire for FCAW - E71T-1
Wire for SAW - EH 12K & Flux - F 7A8
Preheat Temp.- 100 to 125 deg.C
PWHT  Temp. - 500 to 520 deg.C
As per
ASME Sec - II C Flux to be used shall be F 7P8 ( A denotes- as weld conditions &
P denotes for PWHT)
As  WPS includes PWHT Flux shall be used F 7P8.
Pl. guide me, weather flux used by the vendor is acceptable & if not what is to be done for the weld joints, those have been welded till date.
Pl. reply urgently.
