Water used for hydro testing of stainless steel piping systems shall have chloride content value less than 50ppm, and PH value should be 7.5, ±.5.
Water used for any part of the hydro testing or subsequent lay-up shall have a sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) count of 10³ per ml or less
When the equipment contact time with hydrotest water may exceed 14 days, an approved oxygen scavenger shall be added to the hydrostatic test water.
For stainless-steel piping, the duration of the hydro testing (using water with less than 50 ppm of chlorides), flushing and draining-drying sequence shall be kept as short as possible, in order to reduce the possibility of chloride attack. Water testing certificate will be made available for each hydro test
