yes this is requirment of asme sec 2 but supplementary. through this client want to sure if in future defects come at site and again weld done with pwht so what is changes in mechanical prop occurs.nithing is tough in this.simply heat treatment cycle given by client.suppose client says 1cycle at some temp and for a specific time and 4-5-6 cycles at some temp and for a specific time no of cycle depends on client for temp time usually they refer ucs 56 for cs material .so what u hv to first ur material should heat treated separately for 1 cycle than mechanical test after 1 cycle and another coupon for anothers no of cycles then mechanical test.imp is that 2nd cycle may be continue or discrete depend on client requirment.so ur mtc should come with testing 1.as supplied condition- now days manufacturer produce mormalized plate so 1 testing after normalizing.
2.after completion of one cycle than mechanical testing this cycle you will consider as a minimum cycle.
3.again after completion of whaterver no cycles client want 3-4-5 than mechanical testing..
imp is holding temp nd time suppose ucs 56 says for p1 593c minimum temp and for thickness as per thickness suppose client says 1 hours . so 1st cycle is for 1 hour at 593c
max cycle will be 593c and time is lyk suppose client says 4 cycle so time will be 4x 1hour = 4 hours...
now for same weld u hv to 2 pqr
1st pqr with pwht 593c for 1 houritd minimum cycle.
2nd pqr with pwhy 593c for 4 hours
its maximum cycle
hopes its very clear now!!!! its for asme sec8 div1 only
