Re: [MW:25424] UT/RT

Dear Mr. Sundar,

It is a good engineering practice to perform non-destructive tests after 24/48 hours of welding to ensure there was no delayed cracks/ hydrogen induced cracks developed in welded joints.

It is generally applicable for low alloy steels like ( P5, P9, P11, P22, P91 materials) and ferritic steels.

This information is mainly specified in the welding related specifications of clients.

Thanks,
Best Regards,
Rajnish

Dear Experts,
Is there any code reference that we should do
UT/RT only after 24/48 hours of welding . We are following
construction code 31.3. Material carbon steel .
Thanks&Regards,Sundar
