Dear Mervin,
It has been already tested with RT. Then flush grind the shell location and check with PT is more than enough since the shell shall rest on that joint and covered by the fillet weld. There is no code requirement on the VBT

need rt prior resting the shell.In my setuation in our site subcontractor derictly rest the shell course to bottom
