refer UG102 (b) in ASME Sev VIII div1:
"Dial indicating pressure gages used in testing shall be graduated over a range of about double the intended
maximum test pressure, but in no case shall the range be less than 112 nor more than 4 times that pressure. Digital reading pressure gages having a wider range of pressure may be used provided the readings give the same or greater degree of accuracy as obtained with dial pressure gages".

Where can it be found in the code ASME or BS5500 what the proper sizing of a process pressure gauge should be? It has been a rule of thumb for some years that the gauge should have a capacity twice the working pressure. Is this still relevant?
