Actually, customer require Full penetration Weld on the valve and not the test.
FYI, this valve completely assembled. Customer informed that they don't want tack welding and factory still need to proceed with Full Penetration Weld on the valve body and bonnet.
Please advise, on how to resolve this without disassemble the valve.
Regards,
alee

As discussed by all PWHT is appliable but same time you need to carryout relevant NDE whichever you have carried out before weldingFPW in assembled valve will be considered as Repair on casting and you need to get approval for Repair procedure,WPS/PQR/WPQ,PWHT Procedure,NDE Procedure

As manufacturer already says it will increase tension and material structure, pwht is advisable. But if its a test and the customer pays, execute and report.

Customer require Full Penetration Weld on Valve. However, manufacturer response as below..To carry out the FPW on the valve with ASTM A351CF8C is not advisable. This is because during the process the material will expose to the temperature around 900 deg C.When the material (ASTM A351CF8C) expose to the temperature above 700 deg C it will transform or out of shape especially on the parts like valve disc or valve stem, seat, etc.
This valve also required PWHT and the PWHT is carry out prior to assembling and because of welding bonnet , disassembling , machining and polishing cannot be done.
Therefore we wish to inform you again that it is NOT ADVISABLE to do the FPW.But customer still insist on the test. Please advise.
