Re: [MW:11723] GB standard vs AWS D1.1

Before one decides which code to be used for welding procedure and/or welder qualification, first of all, one has to know the design and construction code apply to the structure or system. AWS is for AWS. ASME section IX or API 1104 is for ANSI/ASME B314. Each code contents specific which may vary from one variable to another variable.

Dear Member,

Anybody can inform me, is it acceptable that steel structure design refer to GB standard but the welding will refer to AWS code?
I have not found any reference/statement in GB mentioning about this.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
