you should refer same standard, para 4, in the latest edition it is
para 6, which states

"Variations in dimensions differ depending upon the method of
manufacture employed in making the pipe to the various specifications
available. Permissible variations for dimensions are indicated in each
specification"

for e,g if your product specification is SA312, it cross refers to
SA999.
