DIN 16Mo3/15Mo3:  basic composition is C -0.5Mo

For weld this material to itself or CS you may use Bohler DMO-IG or similar

 

For welding to SS you may use ER/E309 (please check the design temperature), often this material is selected for moderate to high temperature in reaction section, if the DT is higher than 300 Deg.C, I would prefer Inconel filler (ENiCrFe2 or ERNiCr-3 etc.)

 

No great precautions required, you can weld as simple as CS/SS welding, since it is cast steel you may go for pre heat on 15Mo3 side.

A casting (valve body) made up of DIN 16Mo3. I would like to know about

 

1. Equivalent ASTM casting material

2. when this casting needs to be welded with another SS strip, what precaution are required during and after welding.
