[MW:719] Gases for cutting/preheating and Octane number

Initially I was reluctant to moderate this message, and after a series
of mails exchanged with Mr Sridhar, I am posting it here. He was trying
to match it with LPG, both for cost and octane level, hence the query.
Basically this query related togas used for cutting/pre heating
Any body else using other than LPG/acetylene (any other HC gas) for
heating please reply!

Also I am attaching a small book on gases, which could be handy for many
