[MW:10954] RE: 10953] Reg:welder qualification

Dear Mr. Kumar,

You can use ASME section IX for such, See QW 202(c) for procedure qualification.

For pressure containing parts you should qualify on groove welds, for Non-pressure parts you also may qualify by way of fillet weld according to QW 180.

For welders you always can qualify by way of fillet welds according to QW 302.1, for limits of qualification see QW 303.2.

Met vriendelijke groeten / Best Regards

dear experts,

we have dissimilar materials  (only fillet weld is coming) between P9 to P8,due to lack of material we want to conduct welder test on production joint it self.we have welders qualified in P9 (FNo.6) and P8 (FNo6),

but for now we are using filler wire ERNiCr-3 (F.No43) for dissimilar materials.how we can qualify welder on fillet weld.is there any applicable standard is there?pl let me know.

thanks & regards
