Re: [MW:31971] Re: SS 405 grains

Thank you for your answer. I was wondering what would happen to grains of stainless steel 405 grains as hanger in boiler  when they exposed to high temperature for long time?

Dear all,

what will happen to the grains of a ferritic stainless-steel type AISI 405 used as an attachment of a hanger bar in a boiler, when it is exposed to flame temperatures of the boiler for 4 years of continuous operation? It is understood that the 405 steel will not oxidize in the high-temperature service environment.

Emad
