Re: [MW:31974] RE: 31969] NACE SP0472-PWHT - AMINE service

Thank you sir

My clarifications
1) As per NACE SP0472 Table 1 refers amine service  -Hardness  Not applicable with note E& C . But again note C refers -200HBW .

2) This is a production joint hardness requirement . so  we can use our existing  PQR with 248 Hv for welding .

3) Hardness value 200 BHW means almost 200Hv in vickers. anyway we are going to do PWHT >620 C but is it  easily achievable?. How much hardness value reduction  during PWHT.

4)  we have to take production hardness on weld & HAZ. Is it really possible to take Production on HAZ also.

Regards

Hi,

These are very basic requirements for amine service. Typically,  weld hardness of 200HBW maximum  after PWHT is common requirement for amine service. You may find detailed description of the problem and engineering solutions in API RP -945: API RP 945 : Avoiding Environmental Cracking in Amine Units (ihs.com)

Thanks.
