For Tack welds hope base metal thickness remains the same and there is no lower limit on weld metal qualified.
Thanks & Regards

I have an existing WPS-PQR of SMAW process with impact testing requirement. Since the PQR was done with a 38mm plate the base metal thickness qualified is from 16 to 200mm when impact testing is required. For the same job where I have to do Tack welds for the fit-ups will this WPS-PQR suffice for the tack welds? or a separate WPS-PQR will be required? --
