[MW:34743] HP Drum Internal Parts Inspection & Repair

Dear Exports,

We have spotted a cracks on the shell to dished head joints, CS1 & CS2.

We plan to cut out the CS1 & CS2 joints completely since the cracks are all over the joint. Then, remove all cracks and perform NDT and re-welding of the joints.

Our concern is the difficulty in performing hydrostatic tests. Please let us know if the hydrostatic test is mandatory after repair. The drum has Several nozzles connected to different parts of the HRSG and main steam headers. Hence, blinding of the nozzles would be challenging. Please let us know if we can use any alternative method instead of the Hydrostatic test.

BR,
MIDHUN

Dear Midhun,

In My Opinion,

It's Better to do Hydro Test after Major Repair (In High Pressure Drum)

If Client Not Required Hydro Test & If Client Accept With NDT - You can waive off

Client Confirmation is Main

Thanks

Dear Midhun,

In My Opinion

If Any Repair Carried out after Hydro Test

Hydro Re-Test To Be Carried out along with Repair Joint NDT Reports.

Getting Client Approval Prior to these is Good Practice.
(client acknowledgement is Important)

Thanks
