Dear Friends,

I have to do a welding procedure for welding  SA203 Gr.E to SA 516 Gr.70. Process GTAW+SMAW. The joint thickness is 19.0 mm. The MDMT for 516 gr.70 portion of vessel is  minus 29 degree C and the MDMT of SA 203 side is minus 87 degree C. The CS portion is exempted from impact test as per curve D in Sec. Viii Div.1. SA 203 Gr.E is also reffed in Curve D.

Is it required to do impact testing of this joint?. If it required, at what temperature? .-29 degree C or -87 degree C?.

If it is required, which HAZ I have to test?. 203 side or 516 side?.

PWHT is asked for 203 material side. Is it required PWHT for this dissimilar joint also?

Your advise will be highly appreciable.

Thanks & Regards
