Could you please advise SAW what is Thickness range Machine Welding Operator?
QW-351 — Welders explicitly states that the thickness of weld metal deposited by each welding process shall be considered as the thickness of weld metal when using Table QW-452.1(b).
However, QW-360 — Welding Variables for Welding Operators does not contain such a requirement.
For Machine Welding, QW-361.2 includes, for example:
change in welding process;
direct visual control ↔ remote visual control;
deletion of automatic arc voltage control;
deletion of automatic joint tracking;
addition of welding positions;
deletion of backing;
single pass/side ↔ multiple passes/side.
There is no QW-404.30 / thickness limitation specified there.
For SAW Welding Operators, Table QW-354 shows:
QW-404.30 — t, Weld Deposit
as an essential variable for Semiautomatic SAW.
However, this does not mean that the operator’s qualified thickness range is determined through QW-452.1(b).

Maybe I have missed a reference somewhere. I would really appreciate your help in clarifying this.
