Dear Experts,
While checking the DFT of finished painting on pipe spool which required DFT range of minimum 275 microns to maximum 400 microns as per the client specification and standard, we encountered some individual gauge reading 253, 221, 237, 249, 252, 239 microns and average of some spot reading 246 microns which are less than minimum range 275 microns,
As an inspector I haven't accepted this less DFT but the equipment manufacture refuse to accept my observation and applies plus or minus 20% to minimum required thickness.
Kindly advise is plus or minus 20% as per SSPC PA 2, can be applied to this minimum 275 and maximum 400 microns, when a minimum and maximum DFT prescribed in the client Specification.
