Bohler Stainless Steel Flux Cored Wires

http://www.btwusa.com/html/tips_page_2.html#AWS

Welding Procedure

Böhler flux cored wires should be operated on D.C., electrode positive, preferable with a slightly trailing torch angle (approx. 80°). Parameter settings are similar to solid wire. However, a faster wire feed rate is required.

We recommend to use shielding gases like Argon + 15-25% CO2 or 100% CO2.

A low carbon content of max.0.03% is assured with Ar/CO2 mixed gas. The gas flow rate should be 15-18 l/minute.

Recommended parameter settings

Optimum parameter settings may vary according to actual welding conditions.

Welding can be carried out using MIG/MAG welding equipment. When using 100% CO2 rather than a gas mixture it is necessary to increase the welding voltage by 2 volts. The wire stick-out (distance between contact tip and workpiece) should be 5/8 – 1 inch (15-25 mm). Standard feed rollers with a smooth groove can be used.

Adequate fume extraction is recommended as it always should be when welding stainless steels.
