We are constructing two storage spheres as per ASME Sec VIII Div.2 with A516 Gr. 70 & A553 Type 1 material respectively.
For A516 Gr. 70 material sphere (21m Dia, Weld length - 670m) with a single WPS-SMAW having PWHT for pressure part joints of Category A & B. Will Six no. PTC in vertical position qualify ASME Sec VIII Div. 2 requirements?
For A553 Type 1 material sphere (23.8m Dia, Weld length - 120m(1G), 222m(2G), 300m(3G), 300m(4G)) having 4 nos. WPS-SMAW (Client Spec requirement) for pressure part joints of Category A & B.
1G - 1 No.
2G - 2 Nos.
3G - 3 Nos.
4G - 3 Nos.
PTC quantity as per above will qualify ASME Sec VIII Div. 2 requirements?
Kindly share your valuable views.
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,

EN 10025-2 S355JR - P-No.1, G.No.2
EN 10025-2 S275JR - P-No.1, G.No.1
The proposed WPS shall cover one metal from the P-No.1 to any metal from the P-No.1 for the range of qualification.
However referring to ASME Sec IX interpretation record No # 17-3316 (attached), the interpretation seems different for Material SA/EN 10028-2 P355GH.

[MW:34743] HP Drum Internal Parts Inspection & Repair
Dear Exports,
We plan to cut out the CS1 & CS2 joints completely since the cracks are all over the joint. Then, remove all cracks and perform NDT and re-welding of the joints.
Our concern is the difficulty in performing hydrostatic tests. Please let us know if the hydrostatic test is mandatory after repair. The drum has Several nozzles connected to different parts of the HRSG and main steam headers. Hence, blinding of the nozzles would be challenging. Please let us know if we can use any alternative method instead of the Hydrostatic test.
