[MW:7749] Re: European code for Preparing&Qualifying WPS(Piping)

Dear Limesh and Mr. Clubb,

Most of the parts of the European specification EN-288 are already
withdrawn and replaced by EN-ISO 15614 series which are also valid in
the USA and Japan. For that reason EN 288-3 does no longer exist and
is replaced by EN-ISO 15614-1. This specification is called
"Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic
materials. Welding procedure test. Arc and gas welding of steels and
arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys".
Specification EN 288-2 is replaced by EN-ISO 15609-1 and is called
"Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic
materials. Welding procedure specification. Arc welding".

Most of the EN 287 specifications are also already withdrawn and
replaced by EN-ISO 9606 series, only part EN 287-1 is still current
because of international disagreement regarding the content of this
part. In the future this possibly will be replaced by EN ISO 9606-1
but as mentioned on this moment EN 287-1 is still current and is
called "Qualification test of welders. Fusion welding. Steels"

All specifications are applicable for pressure containing parts and
piping as well as for structural constructions.

Hope this will make things more clear for you.

Best Regards,

Herman Pieper
