Re: [MW:6350] Stainless Steel, duplex and super duplex need charpy or not?

Dear Mr. Shukri

What is the construction code?

To decide whether Impact testing shall be performed on a material, you should ist decide MDMT.

UG-20 requires the MDMT to be established for the lowest operating temperature, operational upsets,auto-refrigeration, atmospheric temperature, or any other sources of cooling.

Once you decide MDMT, Refer UHA-51 to decide whether impact testing is applicable or not?

>Hi all,

I have one query about the charpy impact test. Do the stainless steel (P-No.8), Duplex & Super Duplex (P-No.10H) required charpy impact test or not? If yes, what condition which I need to consider when doing the charpy impact test and where can I refer?

Thank you,

Regards,
Shukri
