Existing wps eh36 to eh36 material
Qualified range groove thickness max 50mm without PWHT
The pqr coupon was eh36 to eh36 material

Current situation details
4140 bar 200 dia welded to 100 mm eh36 plate fillet weld throat is 16 mm.

Query 
Can I use the above wps by using appropriate electrode which is within the AWS 5.20.

Your advise will be appreciated

Thanks for your input....It will be a structure of steel sheets (1.5-5mm) and will be used under up to minus 30 degree temp....Kindly recommend the gas as well.

Re: [MW:18319] ASME Sec IX WPS Prepration

Dear Mr. Bilal,

For being expert in WPS preparation, one should continuously prepare WPSs for different material specifications, thickness ranges, welding processes and various other conditions viz. PWHT, without PWHT, impact test and other parameters. It is not only to prepare WPSs but one should also use these documents in shop/ field.  

There are training courses also available viz. "Preparation of WPS/PQR" being conducted by reputed institutes like Indian Institute of Welding.

Your answer is partially correct make a note Pre- Qualified WPS  covers Partial Penetration (P.P) & Complete Penetration ( C.P.)  Joints  Hence Pre Qualified WPS  are applicable to STATIC LOADING
 AS WELL AS DYNAMIC LOADING. Pre Qualified WPS is a proposed WPS & Needs Actual Testing before Procedure Qualification Test.

[MW:18314] Welding of E350 Gr C by E-7018

Dear Experts,

For Welding IS 2062 E350 QU C plate to plate butt joint by SMAW process, which electrode is best suited whether
E-7018 or         
E 7018-1
and is there any chance for impact failure(27 joules at -20 deg C), if it is welded by E-7018.

There is no time frame for delayed PWHT as long as we keep it protected from moisture and frequent handling after completion of Hydrogen bake out and cooling down to room temp.

There is no time frame for delayed PWHT as long as we keep it protected from moisture and frequent handling after completion of Hydrogen bake out and cooling down to room temp.
