[MW:18927] Tandem SAW for SA 240 Type 304 100mm thick

Dear all,

Base Material: SA 240 Type 304/304L
Filler Metal : SFA 5.9 ER 308/308L (2.4mm/3.15mm dia)
Joint Design: "J" groove
Root face : 5mm
Back chip is allowed.

I am in process to qualify PQR for Tandem SAW.

Since thermal conductivity of SS is low.
1) What precautions are required to be taken while caring out Tandem SAW specially for SS.
2) Are there chances of solidification cracking? If yes, what can be the possible reasons and precautions to be taken.
3) Does thermal conductivity have any role to play with cracking?

Kindly provide your suggestions.

Awaiting the reply.

Thanks and regards,
