It should be EH 10K with F7P6.

Subject: [MW:17359] RE: 17336] Request to provide filler metal & Flux combination for SAW process for low temperature service with Heat treatment

Hi Aly ,

Attached please find  some very relevant information on SAW wire and flux combinations guaranteed  for good impact down up to  -46 Deg C. If  both impact and sour service hardness requirements are involved then EM12K would be the  "most preferred option". However  for this wire advise  would be to get a  weld metal composition  so as to get "Mn" around 1.2% max.

Higher "Mn" SAW wires e.g EH12K is good to guarantee  the UTS and impact  after PWHT , however meeting NACE hardness could be a problem. If the material to be welded is SA 516/70, there should not be many issues, however  while welding thicker sections of SA 537Cl1, EM12K sometimes may under match the UTS.

It would be advisable to get consumable manufacturer's  recommendations meeting all the technical requirements.

I hope this would help  you.

Keep posted.

Dear Experts,

We are going to qualify welding procedure of following details

1.       Welding with

·         GTAW with ER70S2

·         SMAW with E7018-1 &

·         SAW

2.    Heat treatment after welding at 620°C @ 200min

3.    Impact testing after heat treatment at -46°C

Kindly  advise on  filler metal & Flux combination for SAW process to achieve impact properties after heat treatment.

Can F7A8 EM12K  will this serve the purpose…!!

Thanks & regards
