General practice is RF pads will be fabricated from the header pipe for two reasons, separate indent is not required to be maintained and profile preparation is not required w.r.t. to plate material. Since it is a pressure part the material selected shall be suitable for the intended design.

Dear All,

I need your value able advise on below issue.
As per my current project specification, pipe reinforcement pad material shall be same as pipe material on which pads would be installed and welded. I have following questions.
1. Pads installed at some type of supports will also be considered as reinforcement pad or only, which are installed at opening on pipe.
2. What plate material (for reinforcement pad) will be considered equivalent or same as A106 Gr B and SA 333 Gr 6 pipe material.
3. Are A36 and A 285 Gr C  equivalent to A106 Gr B and A333 Gr 6  respectively.
 Thanks and regards,
A. Husain
