Re: [MW:17345] Request to provide filler metal & Flux combination for SAW process for low temperature service with Heat treatment

For SAW process you can proceed with ESAB wire F7A8. EM12K  were the basicity is

Very high in this type of agglomerated flux During welding you need to take care of travel speed

and the current .

Please ensure the base material if tensile strength of the material is more than 460Mpa. Proceed

With EH12K with F7A8 combination.

Dear Experts,

We are going to qualify welding procedure of following details

1.       Welding with

·         GTAW with ER70S2

·         SMAW with E7018-1 &

·         SAW

2.    Heat treatment after welding at 620°C @ 200min

3.    Impact testing after heat treatment at -46°C

Kindly  advise on  filler metal & Flux combination for SAW process to achieve impact properties after heat treatment.

Can F7A8 EM12K  will this serve the purpose…!!

Thanks & regards
