[MW:17280] Re: Test subsea welded-in valve seal

We had Nuke machinists that would do a "Blue Check" of the valve and seat surface after we did nuclear valve replacements.
Google: blue check a valve using Prussian Blue
It is a very accurate way to get a visual representation that the valve and seating surface are still perfect.
RESEARCH how to do it. If you don't know what your doing, you can get a false reading showing good, when in reality it is a bad seat but you did the test incorrectly.

Dear Experts,

We're doing a PLEM and TPAM project. The type of valves's welded-in valve. In spec. require as follow: "After fabrication's complete, welded-in valves shall be subject to seal tests in accordance with the relevant project valve specification to demonstrate the valve functionality has not been impaired during fabrication".
Could you pls give me some advice about this kind of tests. Many thanks.
