Dear Sevak:
If your SS plate is a low carbon grade (It should be), apply PWHT with
holding temperature range of (590 to 620).
If your SS plate is not L-grade, I recommend you to prepare at least 3
welded coupons from your 304 plate and apply a separate PWHT with
holding temperatures of 620, 650 and 700 degrees (each one have a
different holding temperature). Then prepare 2 metallographic test
specimens from each coupon and check for carbide precipitation (not
ordinary macro test, it should be x200 or x500 mignification). Any
specimen which has less carbides (of course within acceptable range)
will represent your desired PWHT of such joint.
