Re: [MW:15932] Welding CS to SS ? THICKNESS > 19 mm

Thanks SIr,

In fact, it's Stainless steel thermowell to weld in Crabon steel pipe, Butt weld T-joint.
Design condition : T = 220 °C

Dear Zakaria,

Really not required, as the process involved is for C.S. material & for some other reason of joining on other side requirement is for S.S. 316L by further process requirement for purpose of reaction involved.

Also for PWHT for C.S. is after 32 mm Thk. (Exception is forming operation above 16mm thk.-like dished end.)

If at all still customer wants PWHT, THEN LIMIT UP TO 400 deg C. & longer soaking period.

Hope matter is largely clear.

Best Regards,

Subject: [MW:15928] Welding CS to SS ? THICKNESS > 19 mm

Dear experts,

We have one doubt. Need your help.

We have to weld carbon steel (A106-C)  to austinitioc stainless steel (316 L  grade), thickness > 19 mm.

PWHT in this case is mandatory ? if yes, they're   some restrictions ?

Regards.
