0.5mm is allowed on the Basemetal adjacent to toe on the cap pass to avoid toe cracks and to meet Cap hardness requirements on HAZ>

Can you kindly clarify if the last weld pass is the normalise pass, then how much distance it should be from the edge of the groove. Is there any standard to give the distance in details.
why such a distance need to be maintained.
