Re: [MW:15253] Hard facing on Hammer IS;276 Mn steel Gr.III Reg.

Hi

I think you are seeing hardfacing for first time.
Any hardfacing welding will give "stress relief checks or cracks" and are acceptable. You cant avoid them. Only care you should take is that these cracks should not propagate to the base metal and to avoid this a buffer layer is used before hardfacing.

Dear Experts,

As per Client Requirement Hard facing is Required  on the Hammer Mn steel Gr.III and Hardness should be maintain 400 to 500BHN.10mm thk Hardfacing is required on four side

Now are doing Hardfacing on the Hammer. First we are making Buffer layer with FCAW process and than we are used GMAT-3200 Electrode  for Hard facing.

But problem is that after welding Hard Facing are found crack at so many place.

So kindly Give us your Valuable feedback to resolve our matter.
