Hi
If EFE is less than 5%, SR is not required.
EFE can lies between 5 to 40%, still SR is not required if none of following condition exists. Cold formed dish head Will need SR even if one of following condition is satisfied when EFE is between 5 to 40%.
1) Vessel contains lethal substance
2) Material requires impact testing by either ASME VIII div 1 rules or material specification.
3) Thickness exceeds 16 mm
4) Actual thikness reduction after cold forming exeeds 10%
5) cold forming temperature between 120 to 480 degree C
Thanks

Hi friendsA vessel is being fabricated as per ASME Sec VIII Div.1.MOC is SA 516 Gr.70The 2:1 ellipsoidal Dish end nominal thickness is 16mm / min thk 14mm. There is no PWHT and Impact test requirements in the vessel.I would like to know whether this 16mm thk dishend requires stress relieving or not as per UCS-79.Vendor has offered dish ends without SR. Is it acceptable?Nothing is mentioned in client specs and drawing about D/E SR.RegardsPrem Nautiyal
