For P No.1 Gr.No.1 & 2 materials, If the nominal thickness is

above 16 mm & fiber el. is more than 5% – Then only SR is mandatory.

In your case, nominal thickness is 16 mm so fiber el. is allowed up to 40% –

Also, Calculate fiber el. from code formula & check for other conditions

mentioned in UCS-79, then only you will come to conclusion.

Hi friends   A vessel is being fabricated as per ASME Sec VIII Div.1. MOC is SA 516 Gr.70 The 2:1 ellipsoidal Dish end nominal thickness is 16mm / min thk 14mm. There is no PWHT and Impact test requirements in the vessel. I would like to know whether this 16mm thk dishend requires stress relieving or not as per UCS-79.
